Our Story

Founded in 2000 by Shelton Parker, EA, AmTax Professionals has grown to be a premier tax service firm specializing in tax preparation, tax debt resolution and tax education. No matter how complex your tax situation, whether you are filing for past years, or you're being audited by the IRS, AmTax has experience and knowledge you can rely on.

Shelton Parker, EA

Shelton Parker has more than 25 years of Tax preparation (Individual, Small Business, and Corporation), tax debt resolution and tax education experience in private and public accounting. Shelton was born and raised in Coastal South Carolina. After serving 13 years in the military he obtained a degree in accounting, which lead him to work for Bank of America as a Fiduciary Tax Preparer. Quickly realizing that corporate America was not a perfect fit, he began working for himself and eventually owned a national tax franchise. After becoming certified as an Enrolled Agent, Shelton founded Amtax Professionals LLC, located in South Charlotte NC.

What is an Enrolled Agent?

Shelton is credentialed as an Enrolled Agent (or "EA"), the highest credential awarded by the IRS. Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.
